Simon joined IZA as Research Associate in 2020. He studied economics in Konstanz, Regensburg and Nuremberg with a longer research stay at Boston University. Before moving to IZA, Simon worked as a researcher at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB). His research interests are in the field of labor economics with intersections to public economics and behavioral economics. He focuses on how different aspects of unemployment insurance, tax- and transfer schemes and personalized labor market policies affect labor supply, program take-up and other outcomes.
